Center for Spinal Surgery

The Center for Spinal Surgery at Confraternität Private Hospital is led by two chief physicians who specialize in the treatment of spinal disorders and who together draw on many years of experience in this field: Vaclav Cink, MD and Georg Grabmeier, MD. They offer conservative (non-surgical) treatments as well as a wide range of surgical procedures – from straightforward correction of a prolapsed disk to complex surgery for scoliosis or tumors in the spinal cord.

Vaclav Cink, MD is the only doctor in Austria to hold specialist medical qualifications in all three areas of relevance for spinal surgery: Orthopedics, Trauma Surgery, and Neurosurgery. This means that, in addition to his skills in orthopedic surgery, he is also experienced in using precision neurosurgery techniques under a microscope. Georg Grabmeier, MD is a specialist in orthopedics and orthopedic surgery, with a particular focus on the treatment of spinal deformity (scoliosis).

This unique interdisciplinary collaboration between specialists in different fields enables us to provide carefully tailored treatment plans and minimally invasive surgery on the spinal column, avoiding the risk of injury to the nervous system. This collaborative approach to surgical procedures ensures even greater safety for our patients.
