Center for Preventive Medicine
Many illnesses can be mitigated, or even completely avoided, by maintaining a healthy lifestyle and pursuing a targeted treatment. Health screening programs therefore include identifying genetic and lifestyle-related risk factors, and where relevant any pre-existing health conditions.

Customized preventive care
Our program of “Customized preventive care” has a modular structure. The program is tailored to your individual needs and preferences.
The basic module sets the framework for your personalized preventive care. Genetic and lifestyle-related risk factors are collected as part of the medical history.
General and specific blood parameters give a valuable insight into the current condition of the body. The final consultation provides an opportunity to discuss the diagnostic results and to address any questions.
Includes:
- Initial consultation and assessment of personal risk factors
- General clinical examination
- Laboratory diagnostics
- Basic lung function test
- Final consultation
Prostate cancer is the most common form of malignant tumor in men. If it is identified at an early stage, prostate cancer is curable in many cases. Annual screening from age 45 onwards allows early diagnosis. Ultrasound examination of both kidneys is an optional element of our diagnostic packages.
As a matter of course, our cancer prevention program also includes general urological care, such as investigation of erectile dysfunction, blood in the urine or kidney stones.
Includes:
- Medical history/assessment of risk factors
- Clinical urological examination
- Ultrasound of the prostate gland
- Laboratory analysis of specific urological parameters
- Uroflowmetry
Cervical cancer remains one of the most frequently occurring forms of cancer in women. However, 60 per cent of cases can be identified as pre-cancerous conditions which respond well to treatment. Where necessary, the module can be extended to include mammography.
Includes:
- Medical history/assessment of risk factors
- Clinical gynecological examination
- Smear (PAP)
- Vaginal ultrasound
- Breast examination by palpation
- Laboratory diagnostics of specific gynecological parameters (hormonal status)
The heart is the engine of human life. The cardiovascular system and metabolism are two particular areas where a healthy lifestyle and targeted treatment can have a positive effect.
Quality of life can be significantly improved. The condition of the heart is examined using both resting and exercise stress ECGs and echocardiography (heart ultrasound).
Includes:
- Medical history/assessment of risk factors
- Resting ECG
- Exercise stress ECG
- Echocardiography
Unrestricted breathing supplies oxygen to the body’s cells, providing the energy we need for the day. Smoking and inhaling other harmful substances present a significant risk factor for lung disease.
Lung function is tested using spirometry. Low-dose CT of the lungs is available as an additional option for early detection of lung cancer.
Includes:
- Medical history/assessment of risk factors
- Clinical examination by a medical specialist
- Lung function test (spirometry)
The skin is the largest organ in the human body and performs various vital functions. So it is important to recognize abnormal changes in the skin promptly and if necessary to treat them. With melanoma in particular, the chance of a cure is significantly improved by early detection.
Includes:
- Medical history/assessment of risk factors
- Clinical dermatological examination
- Identification of skin type
- Reflected-light microscopy examination
The eye is the most complex sensory organ in the human body. In our expert examination, your sight is tested and any possible changes are diagnosed.
For example: Glaucoma is painless in the early stages. However, there is already an imbalance between the inflow and outflow of tear fluid. If the intraocular pressure is elevated, this causes damage to the optic nerve, which can result in blind spots or even sight loss.
Includes:
- Medical history/assessment of risk factors
- Assessment by an ophthalmologist
- Examination with reflected light microscope
- Intraocular pressure check
Smell, taste, hearing and balance. Our senses are vital to enable us to enjoy life to the full. However, our sensory organs change as we grow older. Changes in hearing have an adverse effect on communication and social contact.
A full check of your ENT health status allows any changes to be identified promptly and treated.
Includes:
- Medical history/assessment of risk factors
- Assessment of clinical ENT health status
- Clinical examination by a medical specialist
- Hearing test
Posture problems begin in childhood and affect the quality of life for older adults. The spine, knee and hip joints and the shoulder joint are the “weak spots” in our musculoskeletal system.
A clinical functional assessment allows any muscular impairment, contracture (shortening) or imbalance to be identified. This means preventive measures such as targeted exercises or treatment can be tailored to your individual needs.
Includes:
- Medical history/assessment of risk factors
- Clinical examination by a medical specialist
- Functional status assessment
As colorectal cancer is slow to develop from pre-cancerous stages such as benign intestinal polyps, this means it can also be diagnosed at an early stage. Around half of all colon cancers and approximately one in five polyps cause bleeding.
In virtual colonoscopy, an interactive simulation of an endoscopic examination produces a test result without inserting any equipment into the body. Conventional endoscopic colonoscopy is also available if required.
Includes:
- Medical history/assessment of risk factors
- Virtual colonoscopy
Includes:
- Ultrasound scan of the upper abdomen
- Ultrasound scan of kidneys and retroperitoneum
- Ultrasound scan of carotid artery
- Ultrasound thyroid scan
Includes:
- Ultrasound scan of the upper abdomen
- Ultrasound scan of kidneys and retroperitoneum
- Ultrasound scan of carotid artery
Additional examinations on request.
