Stefan Dittrich, MD, specialist in orthopedics and orthopedic surgery, performs knee operations in the Center for Orthopedic Surgery at Confraternität Private Hospital. He uses the MyKnee® system.
The MyKnee® technique allows precise positioning of the implant using exact 3D plans (based on computerized tomography). The surgeon selects the appropriate size of implant, plans the exact positioning and defines the surgical tools, i.e. incision templates that are produced individually for each patient.
This means that damage to the bone marrow during surgery is no longer necessary, which in turn reduces the risk of blood loss and embolism. It also allows precise positioning of the prosthesis, which reduces wear in normal use and extends its lifespan.
Overall the MyKnee® procedure is extremely gentle for the patient, and since the operation takes less time, it also minimizes stress for the whole body. This means that mobilization can begin on the first day after the operation.
