Gastrointestinal health

At Confraternität Private Hospital, we have experts in internal medicine (gastroenterologists) and specialized abdominal surgeons. They can provide rapid diagnosis in urgent cases and perform any necessary procedures.

An interdisciplinary approach allows the best possible care for patients with oncological illnesses.

Gastrointestinal medicine

An increase in gastrointestinal problems (stomach pain, heartburn, constipation, diarrhea, ...) can be traced to our partially industrialized nutrition. Colorectal carcinoma is also one of the most common forms of cancer. The good news is that in most cases, regular screening prevents colon cancer from developing.

At Confraternität, endoscopic investigations such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy are carried out gently and without pain, under sedation, by our certified experts. “Virtual colonoscopy,” a computerized tomographic examination of the colon, is another special diagnostic option available at Confraternität.

Liver, gall bladder, pancreas

These abdominal organs provide vital functions for the metabolism (liver), digestion (gall bladder and pancreas), and hormone production (pancreas). Problems in this area need prompt investigation.

Thorough laboratory analyses in combination with imaging techniques (ultrasound, x-ray, computerized tomography, magnetic resonance imaging) lead to rapid and accurate diagnosis in most cases, allowing appropriate therapeutic measures to be started promptly.

The most common complaints in these areas are chronic or acute inflammations, e.g. of the liver, in the form of hepatitis, or of the gall bladder, due to gall stones or tumors.

Center for Endoscopy

For the prevention and diagnosis of gastrointestinal diseases, the Center for Endoscopy offers gastroscopy and colonoscopy. These procedures are carried out carefully and painlessly for the patients in a pleasant atmosphere.
